The car was awarded first place in the 1970’s Muscle Car class at the 2021 Houston Autorama show. The car is finished in gold over black vinyl upholstery, and features include Calvert Racing CalTracs traction bars, subframe connectors, Wilwood four-wheel disc brakes, American Racing 15″ wheels, Intellitronix digital gauges, and an Alpine CD stereo as well as a Holley 850-cfm carburetor, an Edelbrock intake manifold and cylinder heads, MSD digital electronic ignition components, and TTI tubular exhaust headers. Work consisted of stripping and refinishing the body and subframe, coating the underbody surfaces with bedliner material, and installing a Magnum Force tubular K-member, rack-and-pinion steering, and adjustable front coilovers along with a modified 404ci small-block Mopar R3 V8, a rebuilt 727 three-speed automatic transmission, and a 3.91:1 SureGrip rear axle. The car was used as a bracket racer in the 1970s and then was placed in long-term storage until the early 2000s, when it was refurbished and modified. This 1972 Dodge Demon 340 was purchased new by the seller at Milford Dodge of Milford, Connecticut on November 24, 1971.
